New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg, who describes ‘Stand Your Ground’ as a “shoot first” law, is scheduled to appear at a press conference today in Washington D.C., where he’ll announce his campaign to overturn this controversial gun law.

Mayor Bloomberg is launching a campaign to overturn “Stand Your Ground” laws around the nation, such as the one in Florida that led to the controversial shooting death of Trayvon Martin.

Bloomberg has scheduled a press conference this afternoon in Washington with the Rev. Al Sharpton, the NAACP, the National Urban League and other groups to announce the initiative.
