First lady Michelle Obama surprised season 13 contestants of NBC’s The Biggest Loser, inviting them to the White House following the highly-anticipated makeover episode.
In part one, which aired last week, the remaining six competitors received head-to-toe transformations from celebrity stylist Ken Paves and stylist Jeannie Mai. They then watched a video message from Mrs. Obama, inviting them to the White House to see how far they’ve come.
The episode continued last night with the contestants’ emotional meeting with the First Lady. She started off by congratulating them, and said they’re inspirational to the millions of people who watch the show.
“I am a big fan of The Biggest Loser because the contestants inspire so many of us. They look phenomenal, but more importantly, they have confidence in their step.”
Mrs. Obama said she was “blown away” by their transformations.
She went around the room, greeting each person and their family individually, leaving the impression that she has a genuine interest in, and follows, the show.

“Being so personable with each one of us is one thing, but she knows us, she recognizes us, she makes a reference to my hot wife!” one contestant said.
The first lady joked with another contestant, saying “On Tuesdays, I work out, and I watch you all. I find myself increasing my incline as I watch you work out.”
She also talked about her own initiative to combat childhood obesity, “Let’s Move!”
The Biggest Loser trainers, Bob and Dolvette, lead the first lady, contestants and their families in an intense White House workout.
Mrs. Obama ended the event by challenging the players to see who can get the most people to pledge “the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award,” an initiative to get adults and children to be more active. The winner earns $30,000 worth of gym equipment donated to their respective communities by Planet Fitness gym. They will be announced on the finale episode.
