Shonda Rhimes sounds off about lack of diversity on ABC Family’s ‘Bunheads’

TV producer Shonda Rhimes recently tweeted about the lack of diversity on the new ABC Family show Bunheads.  The creator of Private Practice, Grey’s Anatomy, and Scandal took to Twitter to say that she couldn’t feel good about her kid watching a show without a “dancer of color” during the show’s Monday night premiere. The Huffington Post reports:

Shonda Rhimes took a break from discussing the fate of “Private Practice” to chastise another show: ABC Family’s “Bunheads,” which recently made its debut.

The show, which premiered on Monday and comes from “Gilmore Girls” creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, tells the story of a Las Vegas showgirl (Sutton Foster), who moves to a quiet down and becomes an instructor at the dance school her new mother-in-law (Kelly Bishop) owns.
