Barack Obama’s re-election campaign released a Father’s Day video that paints an intimate portrait of Obama the dad, who Michelle Obama calls “not president of the United States, but Malia and Sasha’s dad,” when the family spends time together.
The video, narrated by the first lady, features snippets from Obama’s speeches, but also more personal moments with the family over the years. “One of the things that Barack is successful at is giving his children the kind of stability and continuity that he didn’t have,” Michelle Obama says. Obama described in his memoir, “Dreams of my Father,” how his own father was barely a part of his life.
