Jay Pharoah finally made his debut as President Barack Obama in the opening skit of Saturday Night Live‘s season premiere, with some fans and critics declaring the portrayal “spot on.” Pharoah’s delivery certainly sounded like Obama, though the pancake makeup, designed to lighten his complexion to resemble the president’s, did make him look a bit odd.
