Angus T. Jones, the “half man” in the hit sitcom Two and a Half Men, is the most recent cast member since Charlie Sheen to speak out against the show, calling it “filth” in a recently-released online video.
The 19-year-old actor made headlines yesterday after he testified about his new-found spirituality in a video for The Forerunner Chronicles.
“Jake from Two and a Half Men means nothing,” Jones explains around the 7:30 mark after sharing how he came to embrace his new faith. “He is a non-existent character. If you watch Two and a Half Men, please stop watching Two and a Half Men. I’m on Two and a Half Men and I don’t want to be on it. Please stop watching it. Please stop filling your head with filth.”
While Jones’ attacks on his own show are making news, attention is also being paid to the African-American man sitting beside him in the video: Christopher Hudson, the face of the Seventh-Day Adventist organization that released the clip online.
Hudson’s YouTube channel features videos of him speaking on a variety of topics, including why he believes Jay-Z is a Freemason associated with Satan and why President Barack Obama’s pro-gay marriage stance likens him to Adolph Hitler.
“Like Hitler, Obama’s Christianity is just a thin veneer to mask his espousal of the New Age agenda,” Hudson says in one clip.
He’s also made claims that New York City’s gas crisis could result in a food shortage which, in turn, could lead to cannibalism.
Jones claims Hudson as a mentor of sorts whose videos have been a “blessing.”
“I love watching Forerunner Chronicles … all the information is so great,” Jones says in the video.
Jones has also been linked to Michael and Denise Johnson, a couple at a Los Angeles Seventh-Day Adventist church. According to The Voice of Prophecy, the couple have been helping Jones with his spiritual journey.
The website reads: “If you’ve seen the TV show he’s a part of, you know that — in Angus’ own words — the show doesn’t want anything to do with God. But this young man hasn’t followed the all-too-familiar downhill route of many Hollywood child stars. Instead he’s looking up.”
Carey Jones, the actor’s mother, told The Daily Mail that she’s worried for her son. “I’m concerned he’s being exploited by the church,” she explained.
Jones said later in the Forerunner video that he doesn’t want to do any harm with his role on the television show.
“I don’t want to be contributing to the enemy’s plan … You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that. I know I can’t. I’m not OK with what I’m learning, what the Bible says and being on that television show.”
He adds, “People say it’s just entertainment. Do some research on the effects of television on your brain and I promise you you’ll have a decision to make when it comes to television, and especially what you watch on television.”
CBS has yet to respond to any of Young’s comments.
