First lady Michelle Obama wowed, giving great glamour in black, at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner last night.
Held at the Washington Hilton in the nation’s capital yesterday evening, the grand gala was described as the “annual schmoozefest” of “Washington, New York and Hollywood” by The Washington Post.
The event, “showed new evidence of being completely overrun by red-carpet-posing actors, singers, sports superstars, models and other outsiders who couldn’t possibly name the ranking Democrat of the House Ways and Means Committee, much less its chairman,” the paper further opined.
But, Michelle Obama outshone many of these stars by wearing her signature bangs with an updo hairstyle replete with an almost bouffant bun of lovely curls. She paired this style with a dark gown, a color range that is the opposite of the multi-colored piece she wore for the occasion last year.
“For the formal event, dubbed the ‘nerd prom’ by the media set, Mrs. O chose a black beaded, draped chiffon goddess gown with high neckline in Chantilly lace by designer Monique Lhuillier,” reported the Mrs. O fashion blog.
Mrs. Obama was perfectly appointed to witness the humorous quips the dinner is known for, as “President Barack Obama and comedian Conan O’Brien took to the dais at the ‘nerd prom’ — and each took a very different approach to making the room laugh … and blush,” according to NBC News Entertainment.
