Pharrell and his hat are taking their talents to Adidas.
Like his friend Kanye West,the Grammy-award-winning producer and singer will be creating sneakers for the German sneaker giant.
Growing up in Virginia Beach, Va., Â the Adidas brand was a memorable part of his upbringing.
“From the classic track suit, to growing up wearing Stan Smiths, Adidas has been a staple in my life,” said the “Happy” singer.
Pharrell’s a stylish mainstay on the red carpet, but his love for streetwear is his fashion foundation. He’s the cofounder of Billionaire Boys Club clothing line and Ice Creams cross trainers.
“Their pieces are timeless,” stated Pharrell. “This is an exciting partnership for both me and for Bionic Yarn.”
Bionic Yarn is Pharrell’s pet environmental project. They convert ocean debris into reusable fabric. Pharrell’s Adidas sneakers will use Bionic Yarn as shoelaces.
