Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Pharrell’s internationally-loved single “Happy”  was originally meant for rapper Cee Lo Green.

Let that sink in for a moment.

Pharrell dropped this information during a recent interview with radio legend Howard Stern and said the only reason that “Happy” didn’t go to the Goodie Mob leader was due to intervention from “the powers that be.”

“He sounded amazing on it,” Pharrell said.”He burns my version. But … how do I say this diplomatically? The powers that be, at the time, did not see it fit for him.”

Well, whoever lowballed Cee Lo cost him a monster hit to have underneath his belt.

Grio fam, would you listen to a Cee Lo only version of “Happy”? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
