It’s the Fourth of the July weekend, and that means plenty of celebration, food and family.

Coincidentally, those are three main elements that also went into creating an extraordinary new story cookbook filled with amazing cross-cultural cuisine, titled Belcour: Jamaican, French and Chinese Family Recipes for Entertaining.

Written and created by author Robin Lim Lumsden, the book offers more than just great recipes for both meals and drinks — it also tells the story of one Jamaican family’s journey from Asia and Europe to the Carribean island.

Lumsden captures her diverse family heritage in a compelling cookbook that shares recipes passed down through three generations. Readers soon learn about interesting stories of Jamaica’s history, including a personal account of how Lumden’s maternal grandfather became co-founder of the iconic Red Stripe Beer Company.

“I’ve gathered an eclectic collection of recipes derived from my Jamaican, French and Chinese culinary heritage passed down from generation to generation, all using our preserves and condiments,”  says Lumsden.

“This cookbook will expand and diversify your recipe repertoire and help you create new, delicious and cosmopolitan meals that your guests will both savour and remember.”
