A video posted to his Facebook this week shows R&B singer and actor Tyrese Gibson giving his longtime nanny the keys to a black Audi Sedan.
In the video, Gibson begins by saying that “his nanny has been with my daughter [Shayla] for a year and a half” and that he “just bought her a new car [as] a surprise for her.”
Tyrese, upon telling Elva, the nanny, about the Audi, gives her a hug and yells “you got a new car, Elva!” Overcome with surprise, Elva raises her hands in surprise and then covers her mouth, repeating “no, no, no” and “oh my God.” Around her, a small group claps and cheers as they watch her slide into the driver’s seat.
As she examines the interior and holds the wheel, the woman says in surprise, “I can’t believe this!” Towards the end of the video, Gibson tells her again that it’s “your car” and then says “get her to sign [the paperwork], get her to sign right away,” to make the gift official.
The nanny, overwhelmed by the gift, smiles, laughs and chokes back tears during much of the two and a half minute clip.
Fans also seemed to appreciate the star’s generosity, as the original Facebook post has generated more than 400,000 likes and over 29,000 comments to date.
