It appears some audience members got a bit carried away at the Chris Brown set on Sunday. TMZ is reporting that gunshots rang out while Brown was performing at a nightclub in San Jose, California — wounding five people.
The singer was hosting a Capricorn Bash birthday celebration when he became distracted by an altercation taking place in another section of the club. Ultimately, the disturbance caused him to stop midway through a performance of his hit “Loyal.”
At first, Brown smiled and said into his mic, “Oh, them n—as getting it in over there!” but quickly realized it was no laughing matter when gunshots sounded off in the venue.
In the above compilation of Instagram videos taken by attendees, you can actually hear one patron exclaim, “Oh my god, oh my god, there’s a gun. Somebody’s shooting,”
Directly following the melee, four people were rushed to the hospital, with a fifth eventually showing up to the emergency room for care. Luckily, everyone is expected to survive.
