Vivica A. Fox will be reprising the part of Jasmine Dubrow in the upcoming Independence Day 2.
The sequel, which 20th Century Fox has said is slated to come out on June 24, 2016, comes nearly 20 years after the first movie. It’s already boasting a star-studded cast, including Jeff Goldblum, Liam Hemsworth, Jessie Usher and Charlotte Gainsbourg already onboard.
Usher will be playing the son of Will Smith’s character, Steven Hiller, as Smith is not expected to be in the sequel.
Fox’s character, Dubrow, was a single mother who paid the bills as an exotic dancer. She was also the girlfriend of Smith’s character, Hiller.
Roland Emmerich is spearheading this film, with Carter Blanchard writing the script and Dean Devlin, Emmerich and Harald Kloser producing.
