On Friday night, a 21-year-old man, who is quadriplegic and has cerebral palsy, was found in Cobbs Creek Park, lying near an empty wheelchair with a Bible on his chest.

Fortunately, a man walking through the woods stumbled across him and called 911.

According to police, the disabled man’s mother had dumped him there sometime before 10 a.m. Monday, when she boarded a bus to visit her boyfriend in Maryland. The unidentified alleged victim is receiving treatment for a cut on his back, dehydration, malnutrition and exposure at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and is in stable condition following the 9 p.m. rescue, reports WCAU-TV.

Authorities announced on Saturday that they’ve issued a warrant for the arrest of the victim’s mother, Nyia Parler, 41.

Relatives have remained at the hospital with the young man, including two aunts who had tried to obtain guardianship of him in the last few years.
