A Connecticut pastor was shot Sunday while putting up flags outside of his church for an upcoming Memorial Day celebration.
Rev. Dr. Augustus Sealy suffered two gunshot wounds to his leg and shoulder, according to Hartford Police officials.
NBC Connecticut reports the pastor is “expected to recover.”

“He hasn’t lost any hope,” said Sharon, the pastor’s wife. “You know, this is something that happened that was really terrible and shouldn’t have happened and we’ve already prayed for that person who actually committed the crime.”
Members at First Church of the Nazarene reportedly learned their pastor had been shot when they arrived for Sunday services.
Police officials have yet to identify any suspects. The shooting is still under investigation.
