A disturbing video has emerged showing a Florida man chewing the skin off of his fingertips in what police believe was an attempt to avoid identification.

The footage was captured by a camera inside a patrol car, where 20-year-old Kenzo Roberts had been taken into custody following a traffic stop involving a stolen Mercedes-Benz.

Despite Roberts’ bizarre attempts, a fingerprint scanner quickly identified him.

He has been charged with three counts of possession of a counterfeit credit card, grand theft auto, possession of a concealed firearm, possession of similitude of a driver’s license, driving while license suspended and false identification.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office says he has two previous felony warrants for his arrest out of Broward County. Border Patrol was also contacted and found that Roberts is in the U.S. illegally.
