Lin-Manuel Miranda is not going to miss out on his opportunity to perform the lead role in Hamilton when the First Family sees it in November.
The first time President Obama saw the Broadway hit Hamilton, Miranda, who wrote the play, allowed his understudy to take the stage, opting instead to sit beside the president and make some last-minute tweaks before the play officially debuted.
However, the Daily News reports, upon hearing that the president would return to the play on November 2, Miranda did everything to be there, including changing around his travel plans.
Miranda was scheduled to be on the West Coast at the time of Obama’s visit but hurriedly changed his plans so that he could be in costume that night.
“Lin is indeed scheduled to do the show that night,” a spokesman for the show told the Daily News.
The Broadway show depicts the story of one of the Founding Fathers, Alexander Hamilton, and was so well received by the president that he gave it a standing ovation.
