The Star Wars excitement has reached even the White House this week, with Stormtroopers and tiny droids roaming through the press room on Friday.

The White House was hosting a special screening of the movie Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens for Gold Star families and children of fallen soldiers, and it was clear that President Barack Obama was excited to get to the screening as he ran through his year-end press conference.

“Clearly this is not the most important event that’s taking place at the White House today,” Obama told reporters at the press conference.

“There is a screening of Star Wars for Gold Star families and children [of fallen soldiers] coming up, so I’ll try to be relatively succinct.”

The president ran through the press conference, which covered topics from terrorism to mass incarceration, and then ended the whole thing with a grin and an abrupt, “OK, everybody, I’ve gotta get to ‘Star Wars.'”

To the delight of the reporters, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest brought in a few unexpected guests after that: R2-D2 and a pair of Stormtroopers.

“You’ve got to admit, this is pretty cool,” he said.

The Force was definitely strong with the White House that day.
