Kansas City police are investigating two high school students after they posted a video of themselves sexually assaulting an unresponsive girl to Facebook, hoping to garner ‘likes’ and attention.
Over the weekend, the teens posted video of a girl that they met at a pool hall that they brought back to a motel. The girl in the video appeared to be unconscious. She was wearing nothing below her waist, and her shirt had been pushed up to expose her bra.
Although the two students posted the video online in the hopes of impressing their friends, the response from the other teens was swift and decisive in the opposite direction. The students were criticized and torn apart for posting the video, which they said was only causing the victim more pain.
Eventually, the video was taken down, but not before someone took screenshots of it to turn over to the police.
Since being made aware of the incident, the school district made this statement: “The Raytown School District has been made aware of accusations against two students in an off-campus incident. While we cannot control choices made by students outside school hours, we will cooperate to assist police in any way we can.”
