Nine-time Grammy Award-winning singer Natalie Cole passed last night at Cedar Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles due to compilations from ongoing health issues.

Today, her son, Robert Yancy, and twin sister Timolin and Casey Cole have released a statement regarding the 65-year-old ‘Unforgettable’ singer’s death.

“It is with heavy hearts that we bring to you all the news of our Mother and sister’s passing. Natalie fought a fierce, courageous battle, dying how she lived..with dignity, strength and honor. Our beloved Mother and sister will be greatly missed and remain UNFORGETTABLE in our hearts forever.”

Casey Cole said in an interview with DailyMail that she and her twin sister, Timolin, 54, had flown out to Los Angeles to be with their seriously ill sibling during Christmas.

Casey, Timolin, and Cole’s son enjoyed several days together during which Cole thanked them for their support, saying, “I love you all.”

Casey revealed that Robert was by his mother’s side when she died in the hospital on New Year’s Eve.

“It’s heartbreaking, she’s fought a very long battle and she’s at peace now,” Casey said. “She passed last night and we were not with her as we are back in Florida, but she was in hospital with her son Robert, he was by her side.”
