Obama joins Stephen Colbert for hilarious post-Super Bowl broadcast

Stephen Colbert's post-game Super Bowl show was fantastic, but it was made even better when President Barack Obama put in an appearance.

Stephen Colbert’s post-game Super Bowl show was fantastic, but it was made even better when President Barack Obama put in an appearance.

The segment featured Colbert throwing a football around to people from everywhere in and out of this world. First, Lt. Col. Christopher Landers and some soldiers in Afghanistan revealed the seven layers of their dip: six layers of sand plus salsa. Then, astronaut Scott Kelly on the International Space Station tried a zero-gravity spiral.

But then, the ball landed in Obama’s hands, and the two talked a bit before Obama admitted that the whole thing was pre-taped. This was especially surprised, because he congratulated the correct team on their win.

“What?!” Colbert exclaimed. “This was a pre-tape! How could you possibly know that?!”

“Stephen, I’m the President!” Obama explained “It turns out, all of the Super Bowl winners for the next 50 years are written on the back of the Constitution. That’s the plot of ‘National Treasure 3.’”

Colbert shot back by saying that there is no “National Treasure 3.”

“Ha! That’s what you think. There will be. The script is on the back of the Declaration of Independence,” Obama replied.

Then, Obama tried to throw the ball back, but it accidentally hit Michelle, who demanded to know who had thrown a football at her. Hilariously, the president pointed at Colbert and slowly backed away. It was amazing.
