Virginia McLaurin, an energetic 106-year-old black woman, just couldn’t seem to stop dancing for joy during her meeting with President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama on Sunday.
“I thought I would never live to get in the White House and I tell you I am so happy. A black president. A black wife,” McLaurin told the First Couple. The two couldn’t seem to get enough of the South Carolina native, who was born in 1909.

The White House uploaded video of the meeting.
The visit was a dream come true for McLaurin, who in 2014 filed a White House petition saying that she wanted a chance to meet the First Family. She later had a YouTube video uploaded where she reiterated her wishes.
