Police chief allegedly stabs stepson with power drill in fight, fires shot inside home

HAYWARD, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say the police chief of a Northern California university repeatedly stabbed his stepson in the chest with a power drill and fired a shot inside his home after an argument turned into a fight.

Alameda County sheriff’s officials said Tuesday that the 20-year-old stepson went to a hospital with multiple stab wounds and an apparent punctured lung, but his injuries weren’t life-threatening.
