Colorado waitress fired from job over racist tweet

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

A Colorado woman took to Twitter to complain about not receiving a tip, but when she did so, she took things way too far and turned the complaint into a racist jab.

Megan Olson said she would “kill as many Mexicans” as she could if there were to be a real-life Purge as in the popular television show. The tweet has since been deleted, and Olson was fired from her job at Texas Roadhouse.

“This employee has been terminated as discrimination of any sort is not tolerated at Texas Roadhouse,” the restaurant said in a comment on their Facebook page.

On that same comment, Olson responded with an apology for her actions.

“I wrote hurtful, inconsiderate, insensitive and careless words and I understand the amount of people I have offended by that. There are no excuses for what I have done,” Olson wrote.

“I sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, apologize to everyone for my momentary lack of judgment. I want you all to know that I do not actually feel this way,” she said before she went on to ask if there were any other restaurants in the area who were hiring.
