McKeesport Mayor Michael Cherepko took to Facebook to announce that the officer, Melissa Adamson, had been terminated after posting online, “I’m the law today ni**a” on Snapchat.

Adamson, according to the mayor, had only been on the job a few weeks and was a probationary employee in training.

The Pitcairn Police Department also took to Facebook to release a statement, saying, “There has been a picture circulating around of an ex-female employee of the Pitcairn Police Department. As the picture alone does not constitute misconduct, it is symbolic speech and protected under the First Amendment.”
