Family’s reaction to teen’s Cornell acceptance is the epitome of joy

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

On Thursday, Brendon Gauthier found out he had been accepted to Cornell University, and the reaction of his family and friends has since gone viral.

Gauthier was gathered with family and friends around his laptop as he checked his admissions status to Cornell, and when he found out that he was accepted, everyone in the room jumped up and down and celebrated raucously.

According to The Cornell Daily Sun, Gauthier’s first choice was Cornell, and he was brought to tears by the acceptance, writing on social media that “everything is just a blessing right now.”

The pure joy expressed in the video has lit up social media, with 2.6 million views on Facebook.
