Where was Sasha at Obama’s farewell address?

The Internet was quick to pick up on the fact that while President Barack Obama had addressed both daughters, one of them was missing.

Last night, President Barack Obama gave a moving farewell address, and during his speech, he spoke to his love for the women in his life: his wife and two daughters.

“Malia and Sasha, under the strangest of circumstances, you have become two amazing young women,” the president said, gesturing to his oldest daughter as Michelle Obama put her arm around Malia. “”You are smart and you are beautiful but more importantly, you are kind and you are thoughtful — and you are full of passion. And bore the burden of years in the spotlight so easily.”

“Of all that I have done in my life, I am most proud to be your dad,” he added.

But the Internet was quick to pick up on the fact that while the president had addressed both daughters, one of them was missing.

The hashtag #WhereIsSasha quickly started trending, with some of the best suggestions being that she was on a secret counterterrorism mission or working undercover to find Donald Trump’s tax returns.

The true explanation was much simpler, though. It was a school night, and, according to a senior official, Sasha had a test in the morning, so she couldn’t stay up too late.
