Eric Garner’s mother, Gwen Carr, was arrested Tuesday along with several others who were protesting President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Judge Neil Gorsuch.

Several other Al Sharpton’s National Action Network activists came out to the New York Trump Tower location in order to protest Gorsuch’s nomination, and the NYPD confirmed that “multiple” arrests had been made, with charges pending.

Other protests broke out surrounding the nomination of Gorsuch, including one in Brooklyn, where protesters marched up to the apartment of Sen. Chuck Schumer to demand that he fight the nomination. A spokesperson for Schumer said that he intends to block Gorsuch and at least seven other Trump nominees.

“From day one, Senator Schumer made it very clear that he had major concerns with at least 8 of the nominees in what he termed, the ‘swamp cabinet’ of billionaires and bankers,” Schumer spokesman Angelo Roefaro said in a statement.
