GOP had meeting about healthcare impacting women, with no women in the room
A bunch of Republican men are deciding whether or not women's health is important.
On Thursday, Donald Trump met with the House Freedom Caucus at the White House in order to work toward finalizing the Republican health care plan.
The Republicans have long promised to repeal and replace Obamacare, and they are in final negotiations over the bill. One of the major questions being debated was one that affects half the country: whether maternity care and mammograms would be considered “essential” treatments that all health care plans should be required to cover.
The White House put out a picture of the meeting, though they were apparently oblivious to the fact that their picture of a debate about women’s health care included no women. Emily’s List also put out a picture, though they were far more aware of the irony as they showed the meeting.
A bunch of Republican men deciding whether or not women’s health is important. Yeah, that’s an image we’re not going to let pass without mention.
Lengthy standing ovation from the Freedom Caucus when @POTUS walked into the Cabinet Room just now. Big momentum toward #RepealAndReplace. pic.twitter.com/N1FLGAVFMN
