Police are on the hunt for a group of young men who have been accused of assaulting two men during an argument on the Manhattan J Train.
The incident began when a 53-year-old man got on at Bowery station with a 30-year-old friend. They saw that there was a man taking up two seats on the train and asked him to move.
The passenger made room, but he and the 30-year-old got into an argument. The man who had been taking up two seats and his six friends got into a physical altercation that turned ugly.
The group of young men began beating the pair. The 30-year-old was hit in the head repeatedly with a hammer while his friend was kicked in both the face and chest.
The suspects then fled the train while the victims were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
