Senator Ted Cruz likes porn video on Twitter

Early on Tuesday, Sen. Ted Cruz's official Twitter account appeared among the list of accounts that liked a two-minute-long porno from @SexuallPosts.

Early on Tuesday, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX)’s official Twitter account appeared among the list of accounts that liked a two-minute-long porno from @SexuallPosts.

The footage of two women and a man briefly appeared in his liked tweets, though it is not clear whether the Senator himself liked the tweet or whether it was a staffer.

Cruz spokeswoman Catherine Frazier quickly addressed the situation by stating that “the offensive tweet posted on @tedcruz account earlier has been removed by staff and reported to Twitter.”

However, by Twitter standards, the Senator did not do anything wrong, as users can like videos with any kind of content, though they cannot share or promote or feature on headers and profile pictures any kind of graphic content such as pornography. Because it was simply a like, Cruz is not in trouble with Twitter.

He is, on the other hand, facing scrutiny by the public over his ‘like,’ which is not the first time that Cruz has been linked to pornography.

Cruz said that he once searched for hardcore porn with the term “cantaloupe” with Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor for research purposes. In 2007, he tried to ban sex toys from being purchased in Texas, and in 2016, he pulled a Sen. Marco Rubio attack ad after he found out that it featured a softcore porn actress.
