Video of Victoria’s Secret models singing a racial slur sparks backlash

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

A group of Victoria’s Secret models have been hit with a wave of backlash for singing the N-word while singing along to Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow.”

There were almost no black models in the group at the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show seen on video singing along to the song, but the N-word was still clearly, loudly heard during the line:

“I don’t wanna choose/And I’m quick, cut a ni**a off, so don’t get comfortable.”

While Cardi B herself hasn’t put out a statement on the controversy yet, she did retweet a tweet pointing out the fact that all of the models used the word in the song.

Victoria’s Secret itself has not issued a statement on the matter yet, but it might do so if the controversy continues.
