A worker at a Milwaukee city contracted construction site was fired after bring a cooler with Ku Klux Klan and Confederate flag stickers to the job site.

Three days after the image of the cooler began to make the rounds on social media, the worker was fired, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Public Works Commissioner Ghassan Korban said on Monday in an email to several aldermen that he had spoken with the contractor several times to confirm that the worker had been fired. Now, Korban is calling for the contracter, American Sewer Services, to “develop policies to prevent this from happening again.”

This isn’t the first time American Sewer Services has found itself in hot water for the questionable decisions of its employees. According to WXOW, this same company faced backlash from the community after three white workers were seen brandishing guns on the job site.

“If this company sees fit to hire individuals who basically either ascribe to, belong to or [are] sympathetic with terrorist organizations, we’re going to have to take some action on a city level,” Milwaukee Alderman Bob Bauman told the station.

After the controversy, the job site and construction company has seen backlash and vandalism, with words like “racist” and “go home” being written on construction equipment.

“I am very concerned that the workers working on projects in the city no longer reflect the population of the community they are serving,” Alderman Tony Zielinski told the Journal Sentinel on Monday.
