Meghan Markle, Prince Harry movie in development by Lifetime

Well that was fast!

Can’t get enough of the latest royal couple? Then you will be thrilled to hear about the new Meghan Markle, Prince Harry movie in development by Lifetime.

The cable network is currently getting ready to go into production for Harry & Meghan: The Royal Love Story. The film will be chronicling the relationship of the whirlwind romance that resulted in last November’s engagement. It was announced on Sunday by Lifetime head of programming Liz Gateley during the cable network’s portion of TCA.

The Meghan Markle, Prince Harry movie will take a closer look at the history of the lovebirds from the instant they met when set up by friends, throughout their initial dating phase all the way to their romantic engagement. It will also examine how they were able to keep the relationship under wraps as well as focus on the massive attention they have received and Meghan’s life as an American actress who has been through a divorce.

Casting is already underway and no premiere date has been set, however, you might recall that Lifetime aired William & Kate: The Movie just 11 days before their wedding. That film was about Prince William and his relationship with Kate Middleton, the woman who became the mother of his soon-to-be three children.

Since the newest royal couple are set to marry on May 19, we can probably expect an early May premiere date for the Meghan Markle, Prince Harry movie.

The film will be directed by Menhaj Huda (The Royals) with a script that has been written by Scarlett Lacey. Merideth Finn and Michele Weiss (Flowers In the Attic) will be executive producers.

Prince Harry and Suits star Markle met in July 2016 and have been seen all over the globe together since. They have spent a significant amount of time in Harry’s homeland of Britain as well as Canada where Suits is filmed and Africa.
