Magazine mistake: Can you spot Oprah’s three hands in Vanity Fair photo?
Oprah Winfrey is on the cover of Vanity Fair’s 24th annual ‘Hollywood’ issue, but a Photoshop mistake already has the internet joking about the image.
The star-studded annual Hollywood cover featured not only Oprah but the likes of Tom Hanks, Harrison Ford, Zendaya, Michael B. Jordan, Nicole Kidman, Jessica Chastain, and Robert de Niro.
Oprah’s Wrinkle in Time co-star Reese Witherspoon is seated on the media mogul’s lap as the two mega stars laugh. It’s a great candid shot of people having fun until you look a little closer.
It looks like Oprah has her arm around Witherspoon, because you can see her fingers on Witherspoon’s waist. But here’s the problem: she also already has two other hands showing in the image. One is resting on her lap, and the other is at her hip.
Twitter had a blast with the Vanity Fair cover mistake, joking about Oprah’s three hands being the source of her ability to achieve great success.
“Everyone knows Oprah has three hands,” Steve Bayorgeon said on Twitter, among other responses, according to the Daily Mail.
Oprah’s hands weren’t the only mistake
Sharp Vanity Fair readers also spotted more than just an extra hand, too. On the Hollywood issue cover.
It looks like Witherspoon has her legs pulled up to the side, but then there’s another leg standing straight up. Does Reese Witherspoon have three legs?
Reese joked about Vanity Fair’s photoshop fail on social media.
“Well I guess everybody knows now I have three legs,” she wrote. She also said that she “will never apologize for snuggling” up with Oprah.
A clearly amused Oprah responded in kind: “I accept your third leg. As I know you accept my third hand.”
Vanity Fair admitted that it had touched up the photo and had gone so far as to remove James Franco from the cover altogether. Franco has been facing allegations of sexual misconduct, and the magazine clearly wanted to distance itself from the controversy.
But with Oprah’s third hand and Reese’s third leg the venerable magazine has stirred up their own controversy.
