Chicago man allegedly shot his friend for being ‘too loud’

A Chicago man reportedly shot his friend because he thought she was being too loud during their argument.

According to the Chicago TribuneWashington went to his friend’s apartment, where they spent time together chatting and smoking. However, they got into an argument that escalated when the woman raised her voice, and Washington became “increasingly angry,” according to Assistant State’s Attorney Julia Ramirez.

Washington kept telling his friend to lower her voice, but that only served to frustrate the woman further. But when she told Washington to leave her apartment, he pulled out a gun and shot her in the arm and leg, according to prosecutors.

Ramirez said that after Washington shot his friend, he ran from the scene, leaving the front door to the apartment open in his haste.

Police arrived to the apartment after someone nearby heard the gunshots and dialed 911. When they arrived, they found the spent shell casings as well as the injured woman.
