The partygoers were jumping up and down at a student apartment complex when the floor gave out underneath them, collapsing into a second floor unit. Water pipes were also damaged in the fall and started leaking.
Denton Fire Marshal Brad Lahart said that between five and seven people were treated on the scene and were released. There were no major injuries reported from the incident.
At least 48 residents of the college apartments are currently displaced while a structural engineer and construction crew have been called in to ensure the safety of the building. While all of the residents said that they had a place to stay for the night, the apartment complex is looking for a more permanent solution for those affected.
