Though they’ve had their share of public up and downs, Torrei Hart says people need to give her ex-husband, comedian Kevin Hart, a break following his on-air drunken shenanigans at the Super Bowl.

“Was he driving? No. Was he at the Super Bowl celebrating a victory? Yes,” the comedic actress said of her comical ex-husband with whom she shares two children.

What Went Down

ICYMI, after the Philly native’s team won professional football’s biggest game, Kevin Hart attempted to join the Philadelphia Eagles players and coaches on stage as quarterback Nick Foles was being presented the MVP trophy for his role in the game. Security wasn’t having it though and politely forcefully blocked the overzealous star from reaching the stage. Though he later confessed he wished he would’ve used a little more consideration, the bestselling author then rushed the NFL Network’s set, interrupted commentators and then, dropped the F-Bomb.

“It’s the Eagles. That’s our city,” 39-year-old Torrei said of Kevin’s foolery. She continued, “We’re from Philadelphia, so let the man live. He works hard.”

The Aftermath

Kevin Hart found himself with some morning after regrets post Super Bowl, which he shared via video with his sizable social media following.

“To all the kids out there, I just want to say don’t drink,” the Jumanji actor says in the opening of the video. “You know, when alcohol is in your system, you do dumb stuff. Me trying to go on stage with the trophy definitely in the top two stupidest things I’ve ever done, but who cares, the Eagles won the Super Bowl.”

“My wife was the first one to say, ‘Babe don’t go up there,’ Hart says of his current wife, Eniko. “I told my wife, ‘No, honey, chill out. I have to be up there with my city!”

Despite his no-so-great Super Bowl moments, social media laughed along with the funnyman as he and his friends relived the funny, yet embarrassing moments.

Thankfully the internet never forgets and fans can relive Super Bowl Kev in all his glory here. It’s a weekend he and his friends will surely never forget—at least the parts they can remember!
