Parkland shooting survivor claps back at NRA’s combative PSA

The teens who survived the shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida can take care of themselves and they aren’t afraid of the NRA. They also aren’t afraid of the lawmakers who are attempting to delegitimize the student-led #NeverAgain movement.

Sarah Chadwick is a 16-year-old survivor and is talented enough to have mastered the art of trolling the NRA.

On Oscar night, the National Rifle Association spokeswoman Dana Loesch released a video condemning Hollywood as lazy, inconsistent and “phony.” Speaking directly to the media she turned over an hourglass and stared down the camera.

Chadwick recreated some of the style of the ad. She has a blank wall behind her and the hourglass id there too. That’s about the only similarity however. In the video Sarah Chambers wears a “March for Our Lives” tee shirt.

In her speech to the camera she addresses the NRA as well as to the politicians who have been trying to avoid coming into contact with the survivors of the shooting.

“We’ve had enough of the lies, the sanctimony, the ignorance, the hatred, the pettiness, the NRA,” Sarah starts, mocking Loesch in the NRA video. “We’re done with your agenda to undermine the safety of our nation’s youth and the individual voices of the American people.”

She went on to say, “So, to every government official unwilling to take action and make change, to everyone with an A-plus rating from the National Rifle Association, to every spokeswoman with an hourglass who uses their free speech to alter and undermine what our flag represents, to the politicians who would rather watch America’s youth die than get assault rifles off of shelves, to the manipulating lobbyists who think their political stances should be the only ones supported by legislation, to those who refuse to accept common-sense gun safety as a bipartisan issue, to those who call high school students paid crisis actors and refuse to listen, your time is running out. The clock starts now.”
