Milwaukee police are under fire for brutally beating up a 17-year-old black teen in a mall parking lot and now the Original Black Panthers are protesting and calling for that officer to be fired after a video surfaced.

According to WISNa video captured the beating that the Black Panthers are calling a use of excessive force by police. They marched through the Mayfair Mall and met with Wauwatosa Police Department on Saturday. The Original Black Panthers of Milwaukee want the police officer fired and charged. They also met with mall security and believe the security guard should be fired as well.

They are also calling for a boycott of that mall as well.

In response, the Wauwatosa Police Chief Barry Weber issued this statement: “I can assure you that we take all situations seriously when they involve a use of force by our officers. We thoroughly review all incidents in which force is used by an officer and will do so in this incident, as well.”

Police were called to the mall around 4:30 p.m. Friday after mall security said “disorderly subjects” refused to leave.

On the video, police can be seen punching the 17-year-old suspect in the face in the mall’s parking lot.

The teen in the video has been charged with disorderly conduct, battery and resisting an officer.

In a statement police said, “This video shows only a small segment of the interaction between the suspect and the officer.”

“It doesn’t matter if that individual was causing a disturbance in Mayfair Mall,” said King Rick, of the Original Black Panthers of Milwaukee. “He did not deserve to be brutally assaulted and punched in his face.”
