CASTING NEWS: Regina Hall, Jamie Foxx, Mike Epps, Issa Rae and more nab new roles

There’s tons of talent headed to the big screen thanks to the latest round of casting news. Jamie Foxx, Regina Hall, Viola Davis, Mike Epps, and Issa Rae are all set to star in upcoming films and we can’t wait until their release dates.
BET recently announced that Jamie Foxx will be hosting the BET Awards on June 24 and now he has signed up to star in a comic-based film. The actor will will star in Spawn as Albert Simmons, the shape-shifting, teleporting immortal. Todd MacFarlane created the original comic and will write, direct, and produce the movie for Blumhouse.
Foxx isn’t the only funny man heading for the silver screen. Mike Epps has joined the cast of Amazon Studio’s Troupe Zero alongside Viola Davis. He’s set to play Dwayne Boudraux in the film that will be shot in New Orleans. He’s also prepping several other projects including The Cat and the Moon, Last Friday, The Last Black Man in San Francisco, and The House Next Door.
Some of our favorite ladies are also gearing up for film roles.
Regina Hall has joined the cast of Little alongside Marsai Martin and Insecure star, Issa Rae. She will also executive produce the project.
According to reports, the movie “centers on a woman who gets the chance to relive the carefree life as her younger self (Martin) when the pressures of adulthood become too much.”
Tina Gordon will direct the film that is being produced by Will Packer and Kenya Barris among others.
Little hits theaters September 20, 2019.
