Rapper T.I. has always been the type of stand-up guy to go against the grain. So, it’s no surprise when everyone else shunned Kanye West for his controversial Trump comments, T.I instead decided to sit-down with Ye to gain a better understanding of his point of view.
“We have a high level of respect for one another and I think the conversation was had with a high level of respect and admiration on both sides, and we just wanted to share our views,” said T.I who shared his views in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter In Studio.
While we think it’s pretty pointless, we have to admit that it’s honorable and somebody needed to have a level-head to help lead Ye out of the sunken place.
“I wanted to pick his brain, get his thoughts, so I could have a better understanding of where he was coming from and what he was attempting to say,” admits the Ant-Man and the Wasp actor.
T.I. continued: “I wanted him to do the same for me and we did that successfully over a five-hour period, and at the end of it, we just decided it would be dope if we did a song that detailed the highlights of the conversation.”
The two rap stars collaborated on the “Ye Vs. the People,” song. But T.I. admits he didn’t think West would actually release it.

“I never thought he’d put it out because of the blatant honesty, because I actually wanted to say things that I felt people walking the streets would say,” T.I said about the track which he says only took 45 minutes to produce.
“I wanted to give it a very organic feel.”
He added: “I think it was extremely courageous of him to just put it out the next day regardless of the adverse opinion that it may receive from his fans.”
