Tyler Perry is a busy movie mogul, yet he had to take time out of his day to educate folks on Facebook about those pesky ads they keep sharing that use his name in vain to scam folks.
Perry posted a video to warn fans to stop falling for the scams that claim he’s giving out fabulous prizes. This isn’t the Price is Right folks, it’s real life and scammers are working overtime to lure people by using his famous name.
“I am not giving away anything on Facebook,” Perry said in the video.
“I am not giving away any money. My team has to shut down these things. Every day, there’s a new one popping up,” he continued. Most recently a scammer posted that the movie director and prolific producer was giving away iPhones.
Generous Spirit
While Perry admits he gives away a ton of gifts to deserving folks, he’s not using the social media platform to promote anything.
“Do not give your information to any of these people. Do not give them anything. I don’t know who they are, but every day, we have to get 10, 20, 30 of those things shut down on Facebook. I am not giving away anything.”
“Hey, listen, in my life, I’m a giver; I give a lot of things to a lot of people, to a lot of employees, random things – cars, houses, that I do,” he said.
Recently Perry gave Girls Trip actress Tiffany Haddish a Tesla. The first car, she said she had that she didn’t have to make payments on. We guess now everybody has their hand out.
“Please do me a favor: Post this everywhere so people will know that is not true,” he said.
Goodness knows many people pray – including this writer – that Perry would bestow and throw some of that charity their way. Just know, it won’t happen on your favorite social media site.
“Stop it, devil,” he said.
