Early voting in Nevada starts Saturday and runs through Nov. 2nd.

And today marks the 50th anniversary of Tommie Smith’s historic Olympic protest.

Smith was an athlete who raised his fist on the podium after winning gold in the 200-meter dash— alongside John Carlos, who won bronze— to protest the abuse of human rights and to recognize the struggle for civil rights in the united states.

An exhibition at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, Georgia will commemorate the anniversary of Smith’s protest through February 3rd.
