‘Words cannot express the joy’: Kenya Moore has fairytale-themed baby shower
“So overwhelming to have a room of people who came to celebrate the impending life of #babydaly," she said on Instagram on Sunday.
Kenya Moore is expecting her first child with businessman Marc Daly and the two threw a lavish fairy-tale themed baby shower on Saturday afternoon and PEOPLE magazine was on hand to capture all the unforgettable moments.
Family, friends and some of Moore’s former Real Housewives of Atlanta castmates gathered to celebrate her upcoming baby-to-be. Nene Leakes was noticeably absent from the festivities and BET reported that she appeared to throw some shade when Dr. Heavenly from Married to Medicine posted a photo of the event on Instagram.
Nene wrote, “Didn’t realize u and Kenya even knew each other but u look beeauitful and so does Kenya! So VERY happy for her and Marc.”
Moore and her husband encouraged guests to “use your imagination” when dressing up for the event’s Met Gala-vibe and judging from the photos being shared from the celebration on social media, all certainly looked the part.
Among the attendees at the historic Academy of Medicine in the heart of Atlanta were a who’s who of Bravolebrities, including Cynthia Bailey, Kandi Burruss and Porsha Williams; friends of the Atlanta Housewives Shamea Morton, Carmon Cambrice, Miss Lawrence and Brandon Deshazer; Real Housewives of Potomac’s Gizelle Bryant; and Married to Medicine’s Toya Bush-Harris.
“Words cannot express the joy and happiness I feel in my heart,” Moore wrote on Instagram, Sunday. “So overwhelming to have a room of people who came to celebrate the impending life of #babydaly.”
The former Miss USA, stunned in a fitted gold dress with a long owl-feathered cape and heavy gold crown, the report states.
“Thank you for indulging me in dressing up and doing something different,” Moore told the crowd upon her arrival at the shower. “I really appreciate you guys.”
Guests reportedly enjoyed cocktail hour before dining on ‘orchard salad; a chicken breast stuffed with mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes and chèvre; eggplant cannelloni with spinach; and zucchini and yellow squash “pappardelle” with a basil infused rustic pomodoro,’ writes PEOPLE.
Sadly, because Moore chose not to return to the series, RHOA fans won’t see the event play out when the show’s eleventh season premieres in November.
