A Georgia family is devastated after a 16-year-old honor roll student was killed in a senseless shooting after leaving his shift working at Zaxby’s restaurant.

Quinton Kevon Martin’s manager at the fast-food chain restaurant gave him a ride home from work when someone opened fire on the two in Newton County. The manager was shot and rushed to an area hospital.

Martin didn’t survive the shooting.

A strong student at Alcovvy High School, he would have turned 17 next month. According to his grieving father, Roddick Foster, Martin was working the part-time job to save up money to buy his own car.

“He was just a good kid,” Foster told WSBTV. Martin aspired to be a pilot.

He believes his son was caught in the crosshairs because of a mistaken identity and thinks another teen was the intended target.

“He didn’t even get a chance to get out of the car,” Foster said. “They just pulled up and opened fire. I think they shot up the car, like 10 times.”

“Y’all just took everything away from him at an early age. It was senseless,” Foster said directing his anger toward the killers. “Just turn yourself in.”
