It was the most wonderful time of the year for quite a few people who used an ATM on Sunday night that accidentally made it rain on recipients when it dispensed $100 bills.
You know that thing we all wish would happen to us, well it did for dozens of people who withdrew $100 bills instead of $10 bills at a Bank of America ATM in in Houston, authorities told NBC News.
Word got out quickly that the faulty ATM was dishing out big money by mistake. So hundreds of people headed to the bank to get their piece of the pie, which of course resulted in people getting into arguments and even a few fights broke out at some point.

It was good while it lasted until the cops rolled up and shut the situation down around 11 p.m. local time, the Harris County Sheriff’s Department said.
“There’s no free lunch. If you receive money that you know it is not yours, and you refuse to give it back upon demand, you can, at the discretion of the district attorney, be charged with theft,” Sgt. Joshua Nowick, Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Financial Crimes Unit, said.
However, Bank of America doesn’t share this sentiment.
For those who question whether it’s right to keep the cash, Bank of America is feeling pretty generous and told all the recipients to keep it.
“This was an incident at a single ATM in Houston caused when a vendor incorrectly loaded $100 bills in place of $10 bills,” Bank of America said in a statement. “We have resolved the matter. Customers will be able to keep the additional money dispensed.”
Just how many people got the extra cash still remains a mystery. This is quite a gift.
