Samuel L. Jackson has responded to Donald Trump’s Spike Lee diss following the director’s first-time Oscar win Sunday night.

In case you missed it, during Lee’s acceptance speech for Best Adapted Screenplay for his work on BlacKkKlansman, he called on America to mobilize for the 2020 election: “Make the moral choice between love versus hate. Let’s do the right thing!” he said.

Trump took these words as a personal attack on his presidency, so he rushed to Twitter to fire off a response.

“Be nice if Spike Lee could read his notes, or better yet not have to use notes at all, when doing his racist hit on your President, who has done more for African Americans (Criminal Justice Reform, Lowest Unemployment numbers in History, Tax Cuts, etc.) than almost any other Pres!,” Trump wrote.

One Twitter user commented under Trump’s post: “You wouldn’t have signed Lincoln’s emancipation or approved abolishing slavery as President Andrew Johnson.  You’ve done nothing for poor people, not even white poor people. Love or hate and you hate everyone the proof is in the pudding. You’re the definition of racist.”

Another Trump critic said: “Can someone give this poor child an Oscar too? Or a Grammy or an Nobel or anything he can’t get by an executive order?”

A third user added: “I honesty hate to be the one to have to point this out…….me and about 45k people on twitter…….YOU SHOULD HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO WITH YOUR TIME!!!!!!!!!”

And another commenter noted: “You do realize, don’t you, that most of the world knows you’re dangerously unqualified for the job that a minority of Americans elected you to do? And, that every time you word-vomit we can see and smell the bullsh*t?”

Meanwhile, when TMZ caught up with Mr. Jackson Monday at LAX, he weighed in on Trump’s shot at Lee. Watch the moment via the clip below.
