Kerry Washington’s husband, Nnamdi Asomugha lands leading role in ‘Sylvie’ alongside Tessa Thompson

He will produce 'Sylvie,' a love story set in the mid 1950's.

It looks like we will be seeing a lot more of Kerry Washington‘s husband, Nnamdi Asomugha very soon.

The actor is starring in an upcoming film Sylvie alongside Tessa Thompson and he’s also producing the film that’s described as a love story.

According to Variety:

The film is described as a love story set in the cool jazz era of New York City in the late 1950’s/early 1960’s. Sylvie (played by Thompson) meets aspiring saxophonist Robert (played by Asomugha) when he takes a job at her father’s record store in Harlem. After a summer romance comes to an end, the two fatefully reconnect several years later and find that their feelings for each other have never disappeared.

Aside from playing the real-life part of husband and father to the two children he shares with wife, Kerry Washington, Nnamdi Asomigha has a busy career as an actor.  The former football player star din and produced Crown Heights with Lakeith Stanfield, earning him a nod for a Film Independent Spirit Award. He’s also a producer on the upcoming film The Banker starring Samuel L. Jackson.

Tessa Thompson will serve as an executive producer on Sylvie, written and directed by Eugene Ashe. We will see her not he big screen soon in the highly-anticipated Men in Black: Interational when it hits theaters in June and will return for season 3 of HBO’s Westworld. She’s also tackling the animated world by voicing Lady in Disney’s upcoming remake of Lady and the Tramp.
