A Massachusetts woman who went viral after knocking a MAGA hat off a man’s head has been picked up by ICE agents and now faces deportation.

According to the New York Daily News, last week, Brazilian national Rosiane Santos, 41, was taped accosting a man wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat at a restaurant in Falmouth, Mass.

Santos began to argue with the customer, Bryton Turner, and at some point during the conflict, she smacked the cap off his head — all while he recorded the confrontation on his phone.

When police arrived they arrested Santos and charged her with disorderly conduct and assault and battery.

On Tuesday, Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agents confirmed Santos was in the U.S. illegally from Brazil and took her into custody.

“Deportation officers with ICE’s Fugitive Operations Team arrested Rosiane Santos, an unlawfully present citizen of Brazil, today near Falmouth, Massachusetts,” the agency said. “Santos is currently facing local charges of assault and other offenses. She is presently in ICE custody and has been entered into removal proceedings before the federal immigration courts.”

Bartender Geo Macario, who witnessed the ill fated confrontation between Santos and Turn told Boston station WHDH that the assault was unprovoked.

“They weren’t really saying anything to her,” claims Macario. “All of a sudden, she got up and tried taking the hat off.”

“She went up to him and went to do it again, kind of hit him, so somebody called the cops,” he said. “They tried escorting her out, (and) when she was walking out she tried going after him again.”

Santos has now been released from ICE custody but will be called to appear before an immigration judge to determine her fate.
